Your Payout Is Not Your Take-Home

What you keep depends less on the payout you negotiate and more on how efficiently the practice runs. Staff, technology, compliance and an office all come out of your share, and they grow with you. Enter your numbers and see where every dollar goes, today and as you grow.

Run a More Efficient Practice, Keep More of What You Earn

The gap between the efficient and average practice is mostly process: data entered once, workflows that run themselves, fewer tools to pay for and maintain, and staff who spend their time on clients. WealthHub is built to close that gap, bringing planning, portfolios, paperwork and meeting notes into one place with a team maintaining it for you. Whatever payout you choose, a more efficient practice means more of what you generate stays with you.

WHERE THE BENCHMARKS COME FROM

Hiring thresholds and staff compensation follow Kitces Research on Advisor Productivity (2022, 2024) and the InvestmentNews Advisor Benchmarking Study. Technology spend follows the 2025 Kitces Research on Advisor Technology (4 to 6% of revenue). Margin ranges follow the Schwab RIA Benchmarking Study and the Dimensional Global Advisor Study, where owner operating margins run from the high teens at small firms to the mid-thirties at the median.

HOW TO READ IT

Take-home is what remains for the owner after paying staff and overhead, before the owner's own taxes. Staff are added the year revenue crosses each threshold and their pay grows 3% a year. WealthPlan's terms are described on the Ways to Join page.

IMPORTANT DISCLOSURES

³ Efficient practice and WealthHub comparisons are hypothetical illustrations based on published industry benchmarks for average and top-quartile advisory practices (including Kitces Research, the Schwab RIA Benchmarking Study, the Dimensional Global Advisor Study and the InvestmentNews Advisor Benchmarking Study) and on assumptions about staffing, technology and overhead costs. They do not represent the results of any actual WealthPlan advisor or practice, are not a projection or guarantee of future income, payout or expense savings, and do not reflect taxes or transition costs. Use of WealthHub does not by itself make a practice more efficient; results depend on each practice's size, client base, staffing, pricing, market conditions and how the platform is used. Individual results will vary.
